What a Week:

This week has been quite a rollercoaster. I started Monday feeling fine at work, but by the afternoon, I felt extremely lethargic and off. My left eye became puffy and swollen, yet I managed to finish the day. After coming home and eating gumbo, I was so exhausted that I just lay on the couch and fell asleep. The next morning, I woke up with my eye so swollen it looked like I'd been in a fight. I was coughing as if I were coughing up water, my chest felt tight, and I felt like I'd run a marathon just walking from my desk down the hall. It was unbelievable. I went to the doctor, who diagnosed me with a severe sinus infection and fluid in my lungs. It all happened so quickly, incredibly fast. They prescribed antibiotics, steroids, and cough syrup to help me sleep. I received a steroid shot at the doctor, but I still feel terrible! I honestly don't think the meds are working. It seems like the steroids are making things worse, causing issues that didn't bother me before. My back, which has always been an issue due to past surgeries, is now hurting a lot, and it started after taking the meds. However, I'll keep taking the prescribed meds, and my best friend insists things will get worse before they improve. We'll see. I hope she's right (we won't tell her if she is, can't let her head get too big). I've done nothing but lay in my bed or on the couch, both comfy and warm, yet I'm constantly freezing. I'm so ready to feel better and like myself again. If you know me, you'd understand how crazy it makes me to have no energy and just lay around. I'm always on the go, always busy.
Always on the move! I think I've finally nailed the right formulas for the whipped line I want to launch. I've been experimenting with different oils, butters, vitamins, and preservatives, and I've got the whipped foaming sugar scrub and an awesome lip scrub ready. I've been tweaking these formulas for months, adding and removing stuff along the way. Some vitamins and oils are better than others for different reasons, so I wanted to find the perfect formula that works for everyone and every skin type. I had to add different preservatives to make sure they don't get moldy or bacteria-ridden in the shower, so I adjusted the formulas and put them through various testing phases. I am so excited to finally share these with you! They are delicious.
Let's not forget about the candles! Wow, they're turning out great. I love how much creativity I can pour into designing all things wax. I was experimenting and came up with a snow globe candle. You've probably seen or have a snow globe tumbler; I wanted to make that in candle form. So, I did. It's super unique and creative. I'm really proud of it. I can't wait to feel better and have the energy to experiment again. I've got some new scents I want to mix to create the perfect Mardi Gras king cake fragrance. I mixed a few things, and it smells just like a freshly baked king cake from a bakery. It smells amazing, almost good enough to eat. My goal is to eventually work for myself; I want my business to be in everyone's home in some way. Sometimes, being really confident feels like walking a tightrope—one wrong move, and the fall is tougher than you thought. But, I want to dream big, so I work harder to make that dream come true.
I'm going to keep hustling to turn my dreams into reality. I want to create awesome products for you to enjoy at home, but the best part of this journey is the friendships we build along the way. Sorry for the short update, but I'm heading back to bed since I have work tomorrow and need the energy to get through the day. As promised, I'll have a new post for you every Thursday. Feel free to comment on this post or any others, or shoot me an email if you have questions or suggestions for my blog. Have an amazing and safe weekend, and I'll catch you next week!
xoxo,
Heather
